The Sea Launch team has launch DIRECTV's Spaceway satellite atop a Zenit-3SL launch vehicle from its equatorial launch site on Tuesday, April 26, at 07:31:30 GMT, (30 minute launch window).

The satellite was placed in a geosynchronous transfer orbit from which it was to be put into its final position. The satellite will stay in orbit for 12 years.
