For three days last week, student teams had the opportunity to run their experiments in near-weightlessness aboard Novespace's Airbus A300 Zero-G aircraft as it followed a series of parabolas.

Student teams selected for Fly Your Thesis! 2012
 
Four teams of university students have been selected to conduct their experiments in a series of parabolic microgravity flights on the Airbus A300 Zero-G aircraft. The research ranges from helping restore balance in humans to understanding how planets form.
 The students were chosen from 13 teams whose proposals were short-listed in September 2010.

Four teams of postgraduate students have been selected to fly their experiments during a new ESA programme called 'Fly Your Thesis!'.
 This exciting programme, launched by the ESA Education Office in 2008, offers a rare opportunity for students to design, build, and eventually fly, a scientific experiment that requires an investigation to be performed in microgravity, as part of their Masters or PhD thesis. The chosen teams will participate in a series of parabolic flights on the Airbus A300 Zero-G aircraft.
