The Yaogan 4 satellite atop a Long March 2D rocket was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China at 04:42 GMT (12:42 pm Beijing time Monday).
The Yaogan 4 satellite will be used for scientific research and disaster monitoring.
