All-night Norwich: Stargazing

Stargazers from all over the country will be bringing their telescopes to North Norfolk this weekend for some celestial entertainment in some of the country's most dark skies.
Hundreds of keen amateur astronomers, many with equipment that would put NASA to shame, are attending the Spring Star Party at Kelling Heath Holiday Park.

The Autumn Equinox will see Norfolk play host to the biggest gathering of amateur stargazers in Europe. Hundreds will bring their telescopes to a holiday camp site for a 'Star Party', drawn by the county's amazingly dark skies, and you can join in too...

The Equinox Sky Camp is the largest star party in the UK, with hundreds of amateur astronomers meeting up at Kelling Heath, Norfolk, for a weekend of observing and events. The main day of the event has traditionally been the Saturday, with trade stands, secondhand 'astroboot' stalls and talks, but since 2005 the events have extended into the Sunday with talks and a workshop of particular interest to active observers. These will take place after midday to allow for those who are observing until the small hours!
