A magnitude 14.4 supernova, 2008db, was discovered on the 15th May, 2008, by CHASE in the elliptical galaxy NGC 50 in the constellation Cetus.
The supernova is located 78" west and 79" north of the centre of the galaxy.
As yet the Type is unknown.
