A magnitude 16, Type Ia supernova, 2008cc, was discovered  on the 24th April, 2008,  by Giuliano Pignata et al. (CHASE),  in the galaxy ESO 107-G4 in the constellation of Pavo.
The supernova is located 0".2 west and 8".7 south of the nucleus of  the galaxy.
