Lunar Rover Design Competition In 2008, the American Astronautical Society is hosting the second edition of a student lunar rover design competition with UKSEDS. The basic concept is the design of a small rover that could be used to assist a human mission in site selection on the lunar surface. Phase I of the competition will occur at the UK Space Conference, which is held in Surrey, England from 26 to 29 March. Phase I is conceptual design only. Abstracts are due on 7 March. Phase II of the competition will be held at the SEDS International Conference in Glasgow, Scotland, on 27-28 September. Phase II is design/build/test. Abstracts will be due July-ish.
