A thin waning crescent Moon (>5%) will occult the planet Venus (magnitude -3.9) at ~20:20 UT, 5th March 2008.
Binoculars will b needed to observe this daytime event, which is viewable from north American and the southern Pacific.
Venus will be only 24° from the Sun, so care must be taken.
