A magnitude 15.4 (and rising) supernova, 2007gj, was discovered on the 4th August, 2007, by Berto Monard in the galaxy ESO 298-28 in the constellation Fornax. The supernova is located 44" west and 22" north of the centre of the galaxy. As yet the type is unknown.
