 Sudbury Geological conference
About 85 researchers from around the world - some from space agencies and others based in terrestrial sciences - came to take the pulse of the Earth at Willet Green Miller Centre.
It was held in Sudbury because of the meteorite that hit here billions of years ago, said Paul Sylvester, a co-organiser of the conference and professor at Memorial University.

"It had a big impact on the Earth. The meteorite had global consequences including climate change ... Pieces of Sudbury were shot onto other planets."

This unique conference entitled, The Pulse of the Earth and Planetary Evolution, called upon an interdisciplinary team of speakers hailing from Canada, United States, Australia, Norway and Germany.
Speakers covered topics surrounding the evolution of the Earth and earth-like planets in our solar system.
