Teachers and administrators in the Northern Highlands Regional School District are hoping an Earth angel or at least a substantial grant will pay for more than $150,000 in upgrades to the school's 40-year-old planetarium.
"We pay for an upgrade every year that costs about $6,000. ... It's sort of a warranty with the company, but what we've really been looking at more recently is to redo the whole thing. We'd like to get rid of the planetarium's star projector and go to a digital concept" - William Cobb, science teacher .
The upgrades would allow the 55-seat planetarium to have the first Digistar 3 system in the state, according to its suppliers.
