NASA Satellite Spots Moon's Shadow over Patagonia

On Feb. 26, 2017, an annular eclipse of the sun was visible along a narrow path that stretched from the southern tip of South America, across the Atlantic Ocean and into southern Africa. Those lucky enough to find themselves in the eclipse's path saw a fiery ring in the sky. Meanwhile, NASA's Terra satellite saw the eclipse from space.

An Annular solar eclipse will occur on February 26, 2017

Start of Annular Solar Eclipse is at 12:10:49 UT.
Start of Umbra eclipse is at 13:15:20 UT. 
Start of central eclipse is at 13:16:06 UT.
The entire umbra cone is on Earth's surface at 13:16:53 UT.
The Annular solar eclipse maximum is at 14:53:24 UT.
End of the central eclipse is at 16:30:52 UT.
End of the Umbra eclipse is at 16:31:35 UT.
End of the Solar Eclipse is at 17:36:00 UT.

The eclipse is visible from south Africa, and South America.
