Tianzhou-1 completes its first in-orbit refuelling test

China's first cargo spacecraft Tianzhou-1 on Thursday completed its first on-orbit refuelling test five days after successfully docking with the orbiting Tiangong-2 space lab.
Zhang Youxia, chief commander of the mission, said the refuelling test was successful. The CPC Central Committee, the State Council and Central Military Commission expressed congratulations to the researchers and staff involved in the mission.

China's cargo spacecraft docks with space lab

The Tianzhou-1 cargo spacecraft successfully completed automated docking with the orbiting Tiangong-2 space lab at 12:23 p.m. Saturday, according to Beijing Aerospace Control Center.
It is the first docking between the spacecraft and space lab.
Tianzhou-1, China's first cargo spacecraft, which was launched Thursday evening from Wenchang Space Launch Center in south China's Hainan Province, began to approach Tiangong-2 automatically at 10:02 a.m. Saturday and made contact with the space lab at 12:16 p.m.

China launches first cargo spacecraft Tianzhou-1

China on Thursday evening launched its first cargo spacecraft, Tianzhou-1, into space, a crucial step for the country in building a space station by approximately 2022.
Lifted by a Long March-7 Y2 carrier rocket, Tianzhou-1 roared into the air from the Wenchang Space Launch Center in south China's Hainan Province.

A launch day rehearsal of Tianzhou-1 was conducted on Tuesday at the Wenchang satellite launch center in South China's Hainan Province.
This is the final rehearsal before the launch, with all related departments participating. The launch is scheduled to take place between April 20-24.

Tianzhou 1 cargo spacecraft moved to Wenchang launch site

The rocket carrying China's first cargo spacecraft, the Tianzhou 1, was moved to its launch site at the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Hainan province this morning.
The mission, to be carried out between Thursday and Monday, will mark the second launch of the new-generation Long March 7 rocket, according to the China Manned Space Agency.
Starting at 7:30 am, it took about two and a half hours to move the rocket and Tianzhou 1 to the launch site. Engineers will conduct final tests and fuel up the rocket, the agency said.

Long March-7 Y2 ready for launch of China's first cargo spacecraft

A Long March-7 Y2 carrier rocket arrived at a launch center in south China on Saturday in preparation for the launch of China's first cargo spacecraft next month.
After about a week of ocean and rail transport, the carrier rocket arrived at Wenchang, Hainan, where it will undergo assembly and testing prior to the April launch of China's first cargo spacecraft Tianzhou-1, said China's manned space engineering office.
