NGC 6050 (also Arp 272, IC 1179, UGC 10186, MCG 3-41-93 and PGC 57058) is a magnitude +14.1 interacting barred spiral galaxy located 450 million light-years away in the constellation Hercules. 
NGC 6050 is in the process of collision with the spiral galaxy IC 1179. The pair were catalogued by Halton Arp as number 272.

The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 27th June 1886.
The galaxy was rediscovered by Lewis Swift in June 1888 and relisted as IC 1179.

Right Ascension 16h 05m 23.3s, Declination +17° 45' 25.8"

The galaxies are part of the Hercules Cluster, which is itself part of the Great Wall.
