Paris aerolite

On the morning of the 3rd November an aerolite of considerable size fell in the Rue de Richelieu at Paris, with such force as to displace part of the pavement, and to sink to some depth into the earth. It was accompanied by a sulphurous smell, and seemed to have been recently in a state of ignition or combustion.
