NGC 809 (also MCG -2-6-23 and PGC 7889) is a magnitude +13.8 spiral galaxy located 247 million light-years away in the constellation Cetus.  

The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis A. Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 1st November 1886. 

Position (J2000): R.A. 02h 04m 18.9s  |  Dec. -08° 44' 06"
