NGC 1531 (also ESO 359-26, MCG -5-11-1 and PGC 14635) is a magnitude +12.9 peculiar lenticular galaxy located 54 million light-years away in the constellation Eridanus.

The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflecting telescope at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town on the 19th October 1835. 

Position (J2000): R.A. 04h 11m 59.3s  |  Dec. -32° 51' 03"

NGC 1531 is a dwarf galaxy in the constellation Eridanus that is interacting with the larger spiral galaxy NGC 1532.
