NGC 1551 (also NGC 1550, MCG 0-11-55, UGC 3012 and PGC 14880) is a magnitude +12.1 elliptical galaxy located 171 million light-years away in the constellation Taurus.

The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Clayhall Farm House in Old Windsor on the 8th October 1785.

The galaxy was rediscovered by Heinrich d'Arrest in December 1861 and relisted as NGC 1550.

Right Ascension 04h 19m 38.1s, Declination +02° 24' 34"
