China issues orange alert for typhoon Kalmaegi

China's weather observatory on Monday issued an orange alert, the second most severe, for typhoon Kalmaegi.
It is expected to land somewhere between Yangjiang in Guangdong province and Wanning in Hainan province on Tuesday afternoon, said the National Meteorological Centre.

Typhoon Kalmaegi Hits the Philippines

Government authorities are warning citizens that the typhoon could bring landslides, flash floods and storm surge. At least three towns already pre-emptively evacuated as Kalmaegi, also known as "Luis" in the Philippines, approached the area, the South China Morning Post reports.
