NGC 6914 (also  LBN 274) is a magnitude +6.6 reflection nebula located 6,000 light-years away in the constellation of Cygnus.
The dusty blue reflection nebula covers an area of 1.2 degrees. Ultraviolet radiation from hot, young stars ionises hydrogen gas in the region; protons and electrons recombine and produce distinctive red glow. The Cygnus OB2 stars embedded in the dust clouds also provide strong blue fluorescence.

The nebula was discovered by French astronomer Edouard Stephan using a 80.01 cm (31.5 inch) reflector at the the Marseille Observatory on the 29th August 1881.

Right Ascension 20h 24m 43.0s, Declination +42° 29' 00"
