A fist-sized stone (weight unknown) was seen to fall by farmers working outdoors in the village of Gasseltepaoua, northern Burkina Faso. Mineralogy and classification (M. Bourot-Denise, MNHNP): Ordinary chondrite, H5 (Fa19.2 Fs17.1), S4, W1. Specimens: type specimen, 16.7 g, MNHNP; main mass, Museum of Bureau of Mines and Geology of Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou.

The Gasseltepaoua (H5 chondrite) meteorite fell in Burkina Faso, on the 22nd August 2000.
A total mass of +1 Kg was recovered.
