NGC 5959 (also MCG -3-40-2 and PGC 55625) is a magnitude +13.4 elliptical galaxy located 331 million light-years away in the constellation Libra.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Ormond Stone using a 66.04 cm (26 inch) refractor at the McCormick Observatory on the 26th June 1886.
