NGC 5796 (also MCG -3-38-39 and PGC 53549) is a magnitude +11.6 elliptical galaxy located 131 million light years away in the constellation Libra.

The galaxy was discovered by German astronomer Ernst Wilhelm Leberecht Tempel using a 27.94 cm (11 inch) refractor at the Arcetri Observatory on the 23rd May 1884. 

Right Ascension 14h 59m 24.0s, Declination -16° 37' 25"
