NGC 3058 (also IC 573, MCG -2-25-26 and PGC 28513) is a magnitude +13.5 spiral galaxy located 343 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra. The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Francis Preserved Leavenworth using a 66.04 cm (26 inch) refractor at the Leander McCormick Observatory on the 6th May 1886. The galaxy was rediscovered by Stephane Javelle in April 1892 and relisted as IC 573.
