NGC 5165 (also MCG 2-34-16 and PGC 47281) is a magnitude +13.7 lenticular galaxy located 317 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.
The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Sherburne Wesley Burnham using a 46.99 cm (18.5 inch) refractor on the 5th May 1883.
