NGC 5140 (also IRAS 13235-3336, MCG -5-32-16 and PGC 47031) is a magnitude +11.8 elliptical galaxy located 178 million light-years away in the constellation Centaurus.

The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at the Cape of Good Hope on the 1st May 1834.

Right Ascension 13h 26m 21.7s, Declination -33° 52' 07"
