NGC 5070 (also NGC 5072, MCG -2-34-22 and PGC 46432) is a magnitude +13.1 elliptical galaxy located 313 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.

The galaxy was discovered by American astronomer Lewis Swift using a 40.6 cm (16 inch) Alvan Clark and Sons refractor at the Warner Observatory, East Avenue, Rochester, New York, on the 3rd June 1867.
The galaxy was rediscovered by Heinrich Louis d'Arrest in April 1867 and relisted as NGC 5072.

Right Ascension 13h 19m 12.4s, Declination -12º 32' 23"
