NGC 5964 (also IC 4551, IRAS 15351+0608, MCG 1-40-8, UGC 9935 and PGC 55637) is a magnitude +12.2 face-on barred spiral galaxy located 67 million light-years away in the constellation Serpens.

The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 45.72 cm (18 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 24th April 1830.
The galaxy was rediscovered by Lewis Swift in August 1897, and relisted as IC 4551.

Right Ascension 15h 37m 36.3s, Declination +05° 58' 24"
