NGC 5088 (also IRAS 13176-1218, MCG -2-34-34 and PGC 46535) is a magnitude +12.4 barred spiral galaxy located 66 million light-years away in the constellation Virgo.

The galaxy was discovered by Irish astronomer R. J. Mitchell, assistant to William Parsons, 3rd Earl of Rosse, using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) speculum reflector at Birr castle on the 18th April 1855.

Right Ascension 13h 20m 20.2s, Declination -12° 34' 20"
