NGC 4008 (also MCG 5-28-61, UGC 6953 and PGC 37666) is a magnitude +12.0 spiral galaxy located 166 million light-years away in the constellation Leo.

The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 11th April 1785.

Right Ascension 11h 58m 17.1s, Declination +28° 11' 34"
