NGC 2863 (also NGC 2869, IRAS 09211-1012, MCG -2-24-18 and PGC 26609) is a magnitude +12.9 spiral galaxy located 82 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra. 

The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Clayhall Farm House in Old Windsor on the 25th March 1786.
The galaxy was rediscovered by Frank Muller in 1886 and relisted as NGC 2869.

Right Ascension 09h 23m 36.5s, Declination -10° 25' 59"
