NGC 3069 (also IC 580, MCG 2-26-5 and PGC 28788) is a magnitude +14.2 spiral galaxy located 245 million light-years away in the constellation Leo.
The galaxy was discovered by Danish-Irish astronomer John Dreyer using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) speculum reflector at Birr castle on the 15th March 1877. The galaxy was rediscovered by Stephane Javelle in March 1892 and relisted as IC 580.
