NGC 4831 (also ESO 507-55, MCG -4-31-10 and PGC 44340) is a magnitude +12.5 lenticular galaxy located 153 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.

The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Feldhausen, Claremont, Cape Town, on the 22nd March 1836.

Right Ascension 12h 57m 36.6s, Declination -27° 17' 31"
