Messier 93 (also M93, NGC 2447, ESO 493-SC7 and OCL 649) is a magnitude +6.2 open star cluster located 3600 light-years away in the constellation Puppis.
The cluster consists of 80 stars spread across an area of 22 arcminutes.  The brightest star in the cluster is a B9 type blue giant, indicating an age at about 100 million years.

The cluster was discovered by French astronomer Charles Messier using a 7.62 cm (3 inch) refractor on the 20th March 1781.
