NGC 2889 (also IRAS 09247-1125, MCG -2-24-26 and PGC 26806) is a magnitude +11.7 spiral galaxy located 153 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra.

The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Clayhall Farm House in Old Windsor on the 19th March 1786.

Right Ascension 09h 27m 12.5s, Declination -11° 38' 36"
