NGC 2799 (also Arp 283, MCG 7-19-56, UGC 4909 and PGC 26238) is a magnitude +13.7 spiral galaxy located 77 million light-years away in the constellation Lynx.
The galaxy is gravitationally interacting with the neighbouring galaxy NGC 2798: these two galaxies are listed as Arp 283 in the Atlas of peculiar galaxies.

The galaxy was discovered by English astronomer Ralph Copeland using a 182.88 cm (72 inch) reflector at Birr castle on the 9th March 1874.
