NGC 2417 (also ESO 123-15, IRAS 07295-6208 and PGC 21155) is a magnitude +12.1 barred spiral galaxy located 147 million light-years away in the constellation Carina.
The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at the Cape of Good Hope on the 8th March 1836.
