NGC 3497 (also NGC 3528, NGC 3525, IC 2624, ESO 570-6 and PGC 33667) is a magnitude +11.9 lenticular galaxy located 169 million light-years away in the constellation Crater.
The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road in Slough, Berkshire, on the 8th March 1790. The galaxy was rediscovered by John Herschel in March 1835 and relisted as NGC 3528. The galaxy was rediscovered by Ormond Stone in 1886 and relisted as NGC 3525. The galaxy was rediscovered by Lewis Swift in April 1898 and relisted as IC 2624.
