NGC 3318 (also ESO 317-52, IRAS 10350-4122, MCG -7-22-26 and PGC 31533) is a magnitude +11.5 barred spiral galaxy located 128 million light-years away in the constellation Vela.
The galaxy lies close to NGC 3318A and NGC 3318B

The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at the Cape of Good Hope on the 2nd March 1835.

The galaxy hosted Supernova 2017ahn

Right Ascension  10h 37m 15.0s, Declination -41° 37' 38"
