NGC 3877 (also IRAS 11434+4746, MCG 8-22-2, UGC 6745 and PGC 36699) is a magnitude +11.2 spiral galaxy located 49.57 million light-years away in Ursa Major.
It is positioned below the magnitude +3.7 star Chi Ursae Majoris. 

The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 5th February 1788. 

The galaxy hosted Type I supernova SN 1998S.
