NGC 2580 (also OCL 709, Collinder 183 and ESO 431-SC6) is a magnitude +9.7 open cluster located 13,050 light-years away in the constellation Puppis.

The cluster was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) reflecting telescope at the Cape of Good Hope on the 5th February 1837. 

Right Ascension 08h 21m 28.0s, Declination -30° 17' 30"
