NGC 3223 (also IC 2571, ESO 375-12, MCG -6-23-23, IRAS10193-3400 and PGC 30308) is a magnitude +11.0 barred spiral galaxy located 35.459 million parsecs (116 million light-years) away in the constellation Antlia.

The galaxy was discovered by British astronomer John Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) reflecting telescope at the Cape of Good Hope on the 2nd February 1835. 
The galaxy was rediscovered by Lewis Swift in 1897 and listed as IC 2571.

Right Ascension 10h 21m 34.8s, Declination -34° 16' 01"
