NGC 2353 (also Mel 62, Cr 130 and OCL 567) is a magnitude +7.1 open star cluster of about 30 stars located 3648 light-years away in the constellation Monoceros. 
The cluster is within the Orion Arm, and can be found about 10 degrees to the NE of the star Sirius and 6 degrees WSW of alpha Monocerotis, in an area full of small clusters and nebulae

The cluster was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) reflecting telescope at Datchet, Berkshire, on the 10th January 1785.

Right Ascension 07h 14m 30.3s, Declination -10° 15' 57"
