NGC 4236 (also NGC 4236-1, Caldwell 3, IRAS 12140+6947, MCG 12-12-4, UGC 7306 and PGC 39346) is a magnitude +10.5 barred spiral galaxy located 11.7 million light-years away in the constellation Draco. 

The galaxy was discovered by German-British astronomer William Herschel using a 47.5 cm (18.7 inch) f/13 speculum reflector at Windsor Road, Slough, on the 6th April 1793.

Right Ascension 12h 16m 42.1s, Declination +69° 27' 45"
