A feljegyzések szerint a meteorko 1 font 1 lat (580 g) nehézség volt, fajsúlya 3,384, csak egy kis darabka töretett volt le belole, Moritz Hörnes igazgató úr rajzot is készíttetett róla.
Legnagyobb hossza 3 3/4 hüvelyk (10 cm), két hüvelyknyi (5 cm) magasság mellett, az egész ko igen élesen szegletes alapalakú, kerekített ormokkal és csúcsokkal, fekete kevéssé fényes kéregtol egészen be van vonva, a felület mélyebb pontjain a kéreg durván hálózott, mintegy ráncos.

One stone fell after detonations in the Valea lui Mildin, some 350 paces from the Cacova-Comorâste road, near to a flock of sheep, to the sight of four shepherds. They found the meteorite pierced into the ground to 3 inches [8 cm] with singed grass around. The oldest shepherd, Zsurzs Csinka, lifted the stone, which almost burnt his hand. He handed over the meteorite to the council of the village, which forwarded it to the district authorities at Oravicabánya. Count Johann Baptist Coronini-Cronberg, Governor of the then existing Serbian Voivodship and Banat of Temes sent the stone to Wilhelm Haidinger, head of the Geological Institute in Vienna, who gave it to the Mineralogical Museum of the Court (now Natural History Museum). The stone was almost intact and weighed 1 lb 0,5 ounce [580 g].

The Kakowa (L6) meteorite fell in Caras-Severin, Romania, on the 19th May, 1858.
A total mass of 577 g was recovered.
