The weather was clear and fine and only small clouds were in the sky. Suddenly we heard a strong report and then a sharp noise and whistle. At the place of the fall a thin smoke rose. The Kirghiz were scared and went to the place only half an hour later. A meteorite was buried into the soil three-fourths of an arshin deep. Later when we took it out of the soil it was still warm and had a sulfur smell.
