Title: The Ultima and Hessle meteorites, Sweden: Paired falls?

In 1942 a single stony meteorite was found in Ultuna, south of Uppsala. Since the distance is only 16 km to the Hessle area where a shower of stones fell in 1869, and both Ultuna and Hessle are of H5 type the question is whether they are related. A chemical comparison of their major minerals shows no significant differences, indicating that the meteorites are paired falls.

Hessle is an ordinary (H5) chondrite that fell south of Uppsala, Sweden January 1, 1869, shortly after noon. This was the first meteorite fall ever witnessed in Sweden, and was seen by a number of people as they were leaving church.
It was an overcast day in Hessle, so the bright meteor associated with the event was only seen from a distance, where conditions were clearer, however, the sonic boom and subsequent whistling were clearly noted.

This meteorite fell on January 1, 1869 at 12:30 pm in Uppsala, Sweden. A shower of stones fell weighing from 1.8 kilogram down to just a few grams, with a total known weight of ~15 kilograms.

The Hessle (H5) meteorite fell in Uppsala, Sweden, on the 1st January, 1869.
A total mass of 20 kg was recovered.
