Benares (or Krakhut). Shower of stones (spherical ehondrite), largest recovered 1 kg., fell 19.12. 1798, 8 p.m., at Krakhaut, 25° 22' N., 82° 55' E., 14 miles from Benares, district Benares.

The Benares (a) (LL4) meteorite fell in Uttar Pradesh, India, on the 19th December, 1798.
A total mass of 3.7 kg was recovered.
