Shalka fell in West Bengal, India, in 1840. A rare diogenite, only 4,000g of the meteorite were recovered.

' An immense stone, said to have measured 3 feet across', but only 3-5 kg. preserved, fell 30.11. 1850, 4.30 p.m. 'Shalka' is probably Saluka, 23° 6' N., 87° 18' E., near Bhora-Dharmpur, about 10 miles SE. of Bankura, district Bankura.

The Shalka (Diogenite) meteorite fell in West Bengal, India, on the 30th November, 1850.
A total mass of 4 kg was recovered.
