The Groenewald-Benoni Meteorite

The stony meteorite, which fell to the ground about 51/2 miles northeast of Benoni Central, Transvaal, in July 1943, weighs 8.62 lbs. and is made up of 73.99 percent silicates (mainly olivine and bronzite), 18.95 percent nickel-iron, 5.8 percent troilite, and 1.12 percent accessories.

The Benoni (H6 chondrite) meteorite fell in Gauteng, South Africa, on the 25th July, 1943.
A total mass of 3.88 kg was recovered.

26° 10'S, 28° 25'E
